The dependent variables measured in this study were percentage of words spelled correctly and tutoring behaviors. Tutors were trained to follow tutoring procedures developed by Cooke, Heron, and Heward (1983). Data were collected across three conditions: baseline, tutor training, and peer tutoring. A multiple baseline design across subjects was used to interpret results.
