The effect on soil physical properties was also examined.</p><p>The 9 Mg and 18 Mg loads significantly reduced yields through 1992 and 1994,respectively. Subsoiling generally improved yields of all treatments including control.Measured in 1995, soil cone index, dry density and total porosity were still affected bythe compaction. The 18 Mg load effect was to a greater depth and a higher percentagecompared to the 9 Mg load effect.
