Special Education preference assessments eye gaze multiple disabilities This study used duration of eye gaze toward a stimulus to measure preference. The study took place in two schools for students with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. All four participants were high school students who had a diagnosis of multiple disabilities. The observers used direct recording procedures to record choices made by the individuals and emissions of targeted behavior within a reversal design. The conditions included: Baseline, High-preferred, and Low-preferred. Results indicate that duration of eye gaze toward a stimulus is a promising method of measuring preference for individuals with multiple disabilities and that those preferred stimuli can function as reinforcers. 2009-09-29 English text The Ohio State University / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=osu1250703534 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=osu1250703534 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
