To facilitate the comparison process, FORTRAN programs were written for the three methods. Finally, the differences in computer time required, accuracy of results, and the memory storage requirements among the three methods were analyzed by applying the FORTRAN programs of Appendix A, B, and C to perform load flow analysis on the Modified IEEE Reliability Test System described in Appendix D. The analysis indicates that the performance of the Broyden's method is better compared to the Newton-Raphson method from the viewpoint of computer time required per iteration and memory storage requirements. But, the performance of the Fast-Decoupled method is vastly superior to the other two methods. However, considering convergence characteristics, the Newton-Raphson method is the best.</p> 1994 English text Ohio University / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ohiou1178734278 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ohiou1178734278 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
