The study examined their perceptions toward computer training and computer lab use. The instrument used to collect the needed data was a questionnaire prepared by the researcher. In addition to the descriptive analysis, a dependent t-test was used to measure the differences in teachers’ perceptions toward benefits for teachers and benefits for students and external and internal barriers. The study implemented a qualitative analysis to analyze teachers’ responses to the open-ended questions.

The findings of this study indicated the participants perceived the computer implementation to be beneficial to both teachers and students. The analysis revealed that teachers encounter both external and internal barriers. Teachers need more computer training; and that on average teachers do not use computer labs for instruction. Finally, the findings indicated that teachers perceived the computer benefits for teachers to be significant than the computer benefits for students. They also perceived the external barriers to be more significant than the internal ones.
2004-07-14 English text Ohio University / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ohiou1089745726 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ohiou1089745726 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
