Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) sub-carrier weights are used to transmit samples of a random distribution. Weibull and Rayleigh distributions are explored and friendly reception in simulation for Rayleigh achieved a bit error rate (BER) of 10-3. Assuming a worst case scenario where an eavesdropper is missing only one piece of information about the signal, we show that using at least 32 sub-carriers they are unable to achieve a BER less than 30% for both Weibull and Rayleigh distributions. Finally, experimental results show similar trends in penalization using a Weibull distribution 2017-08-01 English text Miami University / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=miami1501120348908255 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=miami1501120348908255 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
