Five subscales were combined to form a motivational profile: Implicit theories of intelligence, regulatory focus, goal preference, effort attribution, and academic self efficacy. This profile shows how students conceptualize their own abilities, how they approach their goals, and how strongly they believe in their ability to be successful in school. Differences between students in tier one, tier two, and tier three were examined as well as the relationships between subscales. There were significant differences between tiers for implicit self-theory, effort attribution, and academic self-efficacy. Meaningful correlations were also found between the five subscales. 2012-04-19 English text Miami University / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=miami1334148679 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=miami1334148679 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
