With this growth, however, comes drawbacks. In this growth, criminals are trying to gain unauthorized access to systems and the information contained therein. While for an average citizen, this breach might have only a few smaller impacts, this could be devastating if a critical target is affected. To prevent this, security technologies have been developed to try and prevent these breaches from occurring. However, this security can end up causing problems for legitimate investigations as much as it does for illegal access. This paper looks at how the growth of information and communication technologies in the modern era and the security systems protecting them affect how the state operates. 2016-05-12 English text Malone University Undergraduate Honors Program / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ma1462540876 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ma1462540876 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
