The biocompatibility of their organic materials and their versatility in shape and form factor lead to a variety of applications, including logic circuits, neuromorphic devices, and bio-chemical sensors. The choice of channel, gate, and electrolyte material can greatly affect the performance of the transistor. The work in this thesis explores the use of ion gels as solid electrolytes in OECTs. Ion gels, consisting of an ionic liquid immobilized by an inorganic or polymer matrix, maintain a high ionic conductivity while in the solid state. Utilizing solid electrolytes for OECTs broadens the use of these transistors where a liquid electrolyte could be inconvenient. 2021-11-22 English text Kent State University / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=kent1637343817573692 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=kent1637343817573692 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
