A simulation built using the Unity 3D game engine simulates a spacecraft traveling between planetary bodies in elliptical orbits with gravitational attraction. Gravitational attraction is simulated using a physics engine based on Newtonian physics designed specifically for the study. A wayfinding algorithm to direct the spacecraft’s thrusting to navigate among the planetary bodies is presented. The algorithm is tested with a variety of different parameters to investigate efficiency with regard to travel time and simulated fuel consumption.
