This thesis work studies the seismic behaviors of high-rise buildings with different slab systems designed by ACI 318-14. Three RC buildings, Flat Slab, Hollow Block, and Solid Slab Systems, are utilized to study in deep the seismic performance as well as the buildings’ responses of three structural systems. ETABS software is used to create all considered building’s models. Also, these models are analyzed by the Time History method, and the records of earthquakes are selected in two different ground motions: Fling Step and Forward Directivity. Both are classified under near-fault ground motion. Analysis results have been presented in a comparative way. The obtained results of analysis showcase important differences in the dynamic behaviors of each structural systems. Comparison of the results discloses which structural systems are trended to the max-value and which one gets the min-value in terms of Natural Period, Displacement, Drift, Shear, Moments, Torsion, and Acceleration 2020 English text University of Dayton / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=dayton1608378695834876 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=dayton1608378695834876 restricted--full text unavailable until 2022-12-19 This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
