Glucose uptake is one of the critical metabolisms stimulated by insulin, which is mainly driven by glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4). Previous studiese have identified two pathways that are needed for GLUT4 translocation, one of which is the Cbl/CAP pathway. The main focus of this study is the substrate Cbl-associated protein (CAP) in the Cbl/CAP pathway. In order to study the function of the CAP, I used siRNA and plasmids to knockdown or overexpress it, and then implemented the glucose uptake assay to figure out how CAP influenced glucose uptake. My results suggest that CAP didn’t have a significant influence on glucose uptake.
