Less evidence exists to show that this tissue specificity (which entails suppression of glucose production and stimulation of fat synthesis in liver, stimulation of fat synthesis in adipose tissue, and stimulation of glucose uptake) can be directed depending on the insulin variant. The collected data from studies detailed below could both illustrate this concept and offer hope for future discoveries of insulin variants that are optimally effective in the cells that are most important for people suffering from diabetes: hepatocytes and adipocytes. 2018-02-01 English text Case Western Reserve University School of Graduate Studies / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=case1511262462584764 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=case1511262462584764 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
