The study draws on the academic fields of aesthetics, musicology, German history, theater and performance studies, Jewish and Christian religious studies, psychological trauma theory, and literature and the environment studies. I focus on two contrasting compositions, Dies Irae by Krzysztof Penderecki and Oratorio Terezin by Ruth Fazal.
