The athlete and two stories

The purpose of this document is to display a portion of the work I have completed over the last two years. The Athlete is the recently written opening to a novel of the same name. I've decided not to excerpt a longer section of the novel because the novel isn't finished and so the opening chapters will certainly change and may change significantly. The excerpt included herein is to show a part of a major project I've been working on in the last two terms of my graduate work. For the graduate workshop I've primarily written short stories. I plan to edit and seek publication for seven of them. The two included here were written in my second year of graduate school. All but one of the stories I'll try to publish were finished in my second year. === Graduation date: 2006
