Summary: | According to the estimations of the World Health Organization, worldwide, there are approximately 285 million visually impaired people, among whom 246 million have low vision, and 39 million are blind. About 1.3 million of these blind individuals live in the U.S., and only less than 10% of them are Braille literate.
