Summary: | Contrary to present poststructuralist knowledge, Karl Marx was not a structuralist. Rather, Marx proffered a criticism of that particular scientific practice as an adoption of the modern political state government practice of representing in public discourse, and in order to effect, a particular interest as the general interest of 'the people,' 'in the realm of ideas (Marx, 1994 (1869) p.50-51).' He furthermore proffered a criticism of the specific content of the products or presentations of human life of that particular scientific practice as representations of the political rhetoric and law of modern state governments. Thus, Marx practiced a critical science that was a precursor of poststructuralism. |
