Description
Summary:A huge unmet medical need exists in the treatment of ovarian cancer in developing efficacious therapies for the advanced stage patients without the burden of off-target toxicity. This is partly because the current in vitro monolayer cell cultures, which are used for anti-cancer drug development, don't recapitulate the complex three-dimensional architecture of human tumors that exist in vivo. So, there is a need for better biologically relevant in vitro models for studying the phenotypic patterns in cancerous cells and also for the evaluation of the therapies aimed at targeting the biochemical pathways in cancer cells.
