The goal of this study was to understand the impact of sociocultural factors on the career pathways of students during and after high school. Based on a review of literature on career pathways, a series of interviews and focus groups was conducted to discuss the role of social and cultural factors on Generation Z (Gen Z) in the workforce. The analysis resulted in recognizing that community and influential stakeholders need to collaborate and empower youth who come from diverse sociocultural contexts to facilitate their postsecondary success. Second, Gen Z values relate to the shared challenges they have experienced. Third, curriculum and programming need to incorporate career-focused activities. Fourth, organizations should value the skills and outlook that Gen Z brings to the workforce.
