Summary: | The purpose of this Dissertation in Practice (DiP) project was to engage in
strategic inquiry to improve teaching and learning in the interprofessional education (IPE)
program at Pacific University. An action research approach was used to engage stakeholders
in cycles of research to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the program, as well as
areas where strategic changes could be implemented. Focus groups were utilized to collect
data from students and faculty, and a survey was utilized to collect data from graduates.
This data was analyzed, and the results informed the development of a redesigned
foundational IPE course as well as a comprehensive evaluation plan to implement concurrently
with the new curriculum. This comprehensive evaluation plan will allow administrators in the
program to evaluate the impact of the curricular changes and to facilitate data driven
future changes. The action steps of this DiP demonstrated success through the utilization of
collaborative leadership principles and strategies for change leadership.--Author's abstract |
