Summary:This investigation addresses how the implementation of Web 2.0 technologies for completion of research projects affects learning in middle school science students. Web 2.0 programs were utilized by students to complete both group and individual research projects. The programs were used for collaboration during data collection and interpretation. Plus students used Web 2.0 programs to present their evidence. The programs appear to have a positive effect on student engagement and research skills; however effects on retention of content knowledge are yet to be determined.
