Great challenges in regards to organic waste management are faced and anaerobic digestion is considered by EBI as an innovative alternative to landfilling. The selection of the feedstock is a key success factor for an anaerobic digestion project. Based on an extended literature review, an investigation of organic waste available to EBI and a multi-criteria analysis, it is recommended to use a mix of food waste, dewatered septic systems sludge, poultry manure, wasted activated sludge, grease trap waste and liquid yeast as input for the anaerobic digester. by Olivier Sylvestre.
