Description
Summary:This thesis is a survey of the Cauchy law. We begin by exploring its genesis and some of its most important properties. This leads us to particularize the Cauchy distribution by putting all together the most important characterizations available in the literature. Statistical inference based on the Cauchy distribution is then discussed. We end by taking a glance at some related distributions, the bivariate and multivariate Cauchy distribution.
