The thesis investigates four labour organizations: the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), the Federation des travailleurs et travailleuses du Quebec (FTQ), the Confederation des syndicats nationaux (CSN), and the Centrale de l'enseignement du Quebec (CEQ). It shows in which ways the positions of the four centrals have been informed by their members' national identifications and the emotional and cognitive mechanisms that resulted from these identifications.McGill UniversityLevesque, Andree (advisor)1997Electronic Thesis or Dissertationapplication/pdfenalephsysno: 001566577proquestno: NQ29954Theses scanned by UMI/ProQuest.All items in eScholarship@McGill are protected by copyright with all rights reserved unless otherwise indicated.Doctor of Philosophy (Department of History.) http://digitool.Library.McGill.CA:80/R/?func=dbin-jump-full&object_id=42049
