Detection dans les images IRM d'un signal par la methode des ondelettes

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging technique is the most recent method developed to get brain images. These images can be used to know which brain regions are active during a certain task. Once these regions are found, it is possible to construct the brain functional map. Many studies have been done and...

These images can be used to know which brain regions are active during a certain task. Once these regions are found, it is possible to construct the brain functional map. Many studies have been done and are still in process to determine which brain regions answer to different stimuli. The recent wavelet method brings new perspectives for that type of studies. We can use it to decompose an MR image in a set of coefficients that will be studied statistically. This statistical analysis allows us to get rid of the noise included in the MR images. As a result, we get an image on which we can determine the corresponding zone to the brain region which has been activated.McGill UniversityWonsley, Keith (advisor)MacGibbon, Brenda (advisor)2000Electronic Thesis or Dissertationapplication/pdffralephsysno: 001811059proquestno: MQ70373Theses scanned by UMI/ProQuest.All items in eScholarship@McGill are protected by copyright with all rights reserved unless otherwise indicated.Master of Science (Department of Mathematics and Statistics.) http://digitool.Library.McGill.CA:80/R/?func=dbin-jump-full&object_id=31185
