Summary: | This thesis is concerned particularly with the relation between EEG, and other physiological functions and behaviour within the midrange of psychological function. This midrange is the area bounded on the one hand by the onset of drowsiness in the subject, and on the other by the onset of general behaviour disorganization because of overexcitement, extreme stress, and such states. The broad characteristics of EEG to be found within this range have been outlined by Lindsley (1960): “----- the most aroused or excited state behaviorally is represented by a low voltage fast EEG picture, and is paralleled by poor attention and behavioral efficiency.”
