Replacing two conserved amino acids, (ASN-52 to Val and Tyr-67 to Phe), in the yeast Iso-1-cytochrome c gene has little effect on the function of the protein
Experiments here show that yeast iso-1-cytochrome c can still function with the two conserved amino acids, and that replacement of Asn-52 with Val and Tyr-67 with Phe does not affect the conformational structure of the protein.
