Description
Summary:This study is an investigating analysis of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in the context of capitalism and its internationalization, globalisation. The emphasis is placed on the relationship between neoliberalism and NAFTA through a comparative study of neoliberal policies implemented in Chile since 1973 and NAFTA provisions. Some of the issues to be addressed are: the shared ideology behind neoliberalism and NAFTA, the interest behind the agreement, the use of the agreement to consolidate neoliberal reforms, the social costs of implementing NAFTA and the social discontent it has generated.
