Description
Summary:The explosive development of the Internet over the last few years has encouraged multi-vendor networks to support various needs from customers. Multi-vendor configuration management, which is partly concerned with verification of configuration files, is complicated by the fact that each vendor uses a different configuration language. We have implemented an XML-based configuration verification tool (XVT) for multi-vendor networks. XVT currently can parse Multiple Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) configuration files from Cisco and Juniper companies. XVT can also verify those configuration files against the predefined rules. XVT provides a small set of predefined operators for users to define new verification rules. XML is used in XVT to integrate various router configuration files into one uniform global view, which is used for verification purpose.
