______________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT === The present research aimed to validate to Brazil an instrument of organizational culture. Based on approach proposed by Robert, C. A. (2000), Organizational Individualism (01) reflects the notion that organizations are a group of individuals that make their tasks individually. The Organizational Collectivism (CO) dimension reflects the sense that employees are part of an interdependent group. Concerning organizational manifestations, the Horizontality (OH) reflects the notion that there is equalities among individuals in the organization, whereas Organizational Verticality (OV) reflects the presence of status differences and hierarchical levels. Three organizations participated in the study. The analyses concerning the administration of the instrument were considered only to one of one institutions due to the fact that the number of respondents (N = 591) was big enough. The following hypotheses were tested: First, that the organization would have an orientation of CO; second, the organization would present an orientation of HO; third, the pattern IO would be positively related with the verticality manifestation, and that of CO would relate to the manifestation of HO; and finally, to the forth hypothesis, that the manifestations of HO and VO they would have an inverse association. The first two hypotheses were confirmed. The third hypothesis was confirmed partially, while the fourth hypothesis was rejected. Results are discussed based on theory and later some suggestions of researches are proposes.
