In this work, dental resin nanocomposites were prepared with the assynthesized YbF3 nanoparticles by mixing the components in the colloidal state. YbF3 nanoparticles were synthesized by hydrothermal processing. In this method, it was added an aqueous solution containing YbCl3 and Na3C6H5O7.2H2O. Additionally, NH4F and NaBF4 were used as fluoride source. Resulting in nanoparticles with average size around 10 nm, which consisted of orthorhombic phase. In addition, nanocomposites were prepared with the dental resin YbF3 obtained. Which showed higher radiopacity than the tooth tissue with 20% in weight (w/w) using the as-synthesized YbF3 nanoparticles. === Compósitos odontológicos radiopacos são materiais que tem despertado grande interesse científico e tecnológico por possuírem propriedades ópticas e mecânicas diferenciadas quando comparados aos materiais odontológicos com polímeros puros. Neste trabalho preparou-se nanocompósitos com características de resina odontológica com as nanopartículas sintéticas de YbF3, por meio da mistura dos componentes em estado coloidal. As nanopartículas de YbF3 foram sintetizadas por processamento hidrotérmico. Neste método, adicionou-se uma solução aquosa contendo YbCl3 e Na3C6H5O7.2H2O. E como fonte de flúor foram utilizados NH4F e NaBF4. Resultando em nanopartículas com tamanho médio 10 nm, na fase ortorrômbica. Também foram preparados nanocompósitos de resina odontológica com YbF3 com radiopacidade superior ao tecido do dente com 20% ( massa/massa) de nanopartículas de YbF3 sintética.
