Previous issue date: 2016-12-07 === A produ??o acad?mica ? uma das principais atividades do ensino superior, pois promove o conhecimento por meio das pesquisas cient?ficas e possibilita o desenvolvimento de uma sociedade. Entretanto, a elabora??o de trabalhos acad?micos por vezes ? manchada pela pr?tica do pl?gio. A contrafa??o acad?mica ocorre quando o autor utiliza conte?do intelectual, seja de forma integral ou parcial, de outros autores e n?o os cita, deixando de conceder os cr?ditos ? titularidade da obra pesquisada, ferindo os princ?pios ?ticos e as proposi??es legais que regem a Lei do direito autoral. Para a investiga??o desse fen?meno, optou-se nesta disserta??o pela pesquisa bibliogr?fica e documental. O estudo sinalizou como causas que levam o aluno universit?rio a cometer o pl?gio os seguintes fatores: o f?cil acesso ? informa??o proporcionada pela internet; a falta de planejamento do tempo dedicado aos estudos; a inabilidade da pr?tica de produ??o textual; a falha de conduta moral do indiv?duo e o desconhecimento t?cnico tanto dos conceitos relativos ao pl?gio como das regras de concess?o de cr?ditos aos autores consultados. Ap?s an?lise das pol?ticas institucionais da UFRN, que tratam da prote??o aos direitos autorais e combate ao pl?gio, foi poss?vel averiguar que, apesar da recomenda??o para que se criem instrumentos de orienta??o e conscientiza??o de um comportamento ?tico e da honestidade na conduta acad?mica, ainda s?o poucos os produtos, como material did?tico, documentos normativos e servi?os de combate ao pl?gio no contexto universit?rio. Para resolu??o desta lacuna educacional, em conson?ncia com a pol?tica institucional, este estudo sugere a cria??o de instrumentos que auxiliem a comunidade acad?mica, tanto em sala de aula, nas disciplinas relativas ? Metodologia do Trabalho Cient?fico, quanto em cursos de capacita??o, para que se diminuam os casos de pl?gio em trabalhos acad?micos na UFRN. === The academic production is a main activities of the superior education, because promotes the knowledge through scientific researches and enable the development of a society. However, the academic works elaboration sometimes is stained by the plagiarism practice. The academic counterfeit occurs when the author uses intellectual contents, in whole or in part, of the others authors and don?t cite them, failing to provide the credits the work searched, injuring the ethics principles and the legal proportions that organize the law of copyright. From this principle that we don?t need of the database collected in field research to verify existence of the plagiarism in the university environment, this dissertation is characterized as a bibliography research. The study indicated the causes that lead the students to plagiarism. The following are cited as causes: easy access the information provided by the technology; lack of the planning time dedicated to studies; inability of the textual production practice; failure of the individual conduct moral and the technic unfamiliarity of the concepts related to plagiarism as well as concession rules of the credits to authors researched. After analysis institutional policies at UFRN, that ensure the copyright protection and combating plagiarism, was possible to see that, despite the recommendation for the creation instruments of orientation and awareness of an ethical behavior and the honesty in the academic conduct, there are still few the products and services combating to plagiarism in the university context. To resolution of the educational gap, according to institutional politics, this work we intend to contribute to the creation of the instruments to help the academic community, in classroom, in class related the Methodology of the Scientific Work, as well as training courses, reducing plagiarism cases in academic work at UFRN.
