Previous issue date: 2016-08-26 === O trabalho analisa algumas formas de fazer pol?tica entre adeptos do skateboard em Natal-RN. Diante da inexist?ncia de locais apropriados para a pr?tica dessa atividade na cidade, alguns sujeitos passaram a reivindicar pela constru??o de um skatepark p?blico. Diferentes estrat?gias se fortaleceram. Dentre essas, destaca-se o exemplo do que ficou conhecido como, Movimento Skate Potiguar (MSP), uma s?rie de manifesta??es, tais como, passeatas, reuni?es com pol?ticos e campeonatos, organizados em bairros da zona sul da cidade, bem como na Prefeitura e na C?mara Municipal de Vereadores, entre os anos de 2007 e 2011. A partir de uma descri??o dessas mobiliza??es, orientada pela perspectiva dos Estudos Culturais, ingleses e latino-americanos, na ?gide de autores como, Stuart Hall (2005) e Nestor Garcia Canclini (2008), discute-se a quest?o do exerc?cio da cidadania em tempos de globaliza??o da cultura e da economia. De modo geral, este estudo procura mostrar que as mobiliza??es por uma pista de skate p?blica em Natal expressam uma nova maneira de reivindicar por direitos sociais, organizada n?o a partir de interesses de classe, g?nero e nacionalidade, mas mediante o consumo de mercadorias e s?mbolos da cultura do skate, produzida e difundida por empresas de alcance transnacional e pelos meios de comunica??o de massa. === The paper analyzes some ways of doing politics between the skateboard in Natal-RN supporters. Due to the lack of appropriate places to practice this activity in the city, some guys started to demand the construction of a public skatepark. Different strategies have been strengthened. Among these, there is the example of what became known as Movement Potiguar Skateboard (MSP), a series of events, such as marches, meetings with politicians and championships, were organized in area neighborhoods south of the city, as well as in City Hall and the City Council Chamber, between the years 2007 and 2011. From a description of these mobilizations, guided by the perspective of cultural studies English and Latin America, under the auspices of authors such as Stuart Hall (2005) and Nestor Garcia Canclini (2008), is discusses the issue of citizenship in time of globalization of culture and economy. Overall, this study seeks to show that the mobilizations by a public skatepark on Natal express a new way to claim for social rights, organized not from class interests, gender and nationality, but by the consumption of goods and symbols skate culture, produced and disseminated by transnational reach of companies and mass media.
