Walp.) a partir de sementes recobertas com agrominerais. As sementes foram recobertas com fosfato natural itafós, gabro e mistura dos dois agrominerais em níveis equivalentes a 5, 10, 15, 20 e 25 g/100 g de sementes, utilizando como adesivo acetato de polivinila (PVA). A germinação das sementes tratadas foi determinada em laboratório seguindo o protocolo descrito nas Regras para Análise de Sementes para a cultura do feijão miúdo. O experimento a campo foi conduzido em delineamento experimental em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições cujas variáveis avaliadas foram: emergência de plântulas aos 5, 8 e 17 dias após a semeadura, altura de plantas aos 17, 24, 30, 38, 45, 54 e 66 dias após a semeadura, número de folhas por ramo, massa seca de folhas, massa seca de ramos e massa seca total. Os tratamentos não afetaram a germinação das sementes. Os agrominerais gabro e mistura do fosfato natural itafós e gabro superaram a testemunha no número de folhas e na massa seca total. === The current work set out to evaluate the germination and early performance of cowpea plants (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.) through the use of seeds covered in agrominerals. The seeds were covered in itafós natural phosphate, gabbro and a mixture of both agrominerals in quantities equivalent to 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25g/100g of seeds. Polyvinyl acetate (PVA) was utilized as adhesive. The germination of the treated seeds was determined in laboratory following the protocol of the International Rules for Seed Testing for the cultivation of cowpea. The field experiment was carried out under experimental design in randomized blocks, with four repetitions whose variables were: the emergence of seedlings at the 5th, 8th and 17th day after seeding; plant height at the 17th, 24th, 30th, 38th, 45th, 54th and 66th day after seeding; number of leaves per bough; dry mass of leaves and boughs and dry mass total. The treatment did not affect the seeds germination. The agrominerals gabbro and the mixture of itafós natural phosphate and gabbro surpassed the control treatment in the number of leaves as well as in overall dry mass.
