Previous issue date: 2006-01-26 === This study aims to present the evolution of Social Responsibility concept and its practice for Managers. It focus on the level of familiarization of the aligned concept of Social Responsibility and the execution of its practice of the same concept, besides of identifying factors that would leads or not to their practices. The study has for purpose to show that the practices of Social Responsibility, in many cases, are relegated to the companies as presented in academic studies, but forgotten when the aim is the Manager or the individual. According to the Management researchers this Manager is a fundamental piece for the practice of the Management principles and for analogy the most capable person to practice and spread this social action. They were used, for characterization of the study proposal, field researchers graduated in management and students of the Professional Master Course in Management and Business Strategy of UFRRJ, acting or not in the Area of Administration. The study showed that the Social Responsibility is still in yours begin, at least in practice for the manager, using as parameter the academic literature reviewed and the fieldwork results. For this reason, the Manager's role in the process of dissemination and professionalization of the practices and concept of Social Responsibility is relevant for the development of a new vision regarding these actions. === Este trabalho mostrar a evolu??o do conceito de Responsabilidade Social e a sua pr?tica pelo Administrador e tem por foco o n?vel de familiariza??o do conceito de Responsabilidade Social alinhado a execu??o de praticas pelo mesmo, alem de identificar fatores que levariam a pratica ou n?o deste conceito. O estudo tem por finalidade mostrar que a pratica da Responsabilidade Social, em muitos casos, ? relegada a empresa como apresentada em estudos acad?micos, mas esquecida quando a vertente ? o administrador ou o indiv?duo. Segundos os te?ricos da Administra??o esse Administrador ? pe?a fundamental para a pratica dos princ?pios Administrativos e por analogia o mais apto a pratica e dissemina??o desta a??o social. Utilizaram-se, para caracteriza??o da proposta de estudo, pesquisas de campo com pessoas graduadas no curso de administra??o e estudante do Programa de Mestrado Profissional em Gest?o Estrat?gica de neg?cios da UFRRJ, atuando ou n?o na ?rea de Administra??o. O estudo mostrou que a Responsabilidade Social ainda est? no seu inicio, pelo menos na pr?tica pelo Administrador, usando como par?metro ? literatura acad?mica revisada e o resultado da pesquisa de campo. Sendo assim, o papel do Administrador neste processo de propaga??o e profissionaliza??o da pr?tica do conceito de Responsabilidade Social ? de fundamental import?ncia para o desenvolvimento de uma nova vis?o a respeito destas a??es.
