The cross section for the reaction [...] has been calculated via the [...] ratio from deuterium and via the spectator model for the deuteron. A partial wave analysis has been done on the reactions [...] and [...] in the region of the second and third photoproduction resonances using the model of R. L. Walker. The results show some disagreements with recent quark theories. A case is made for the possibility that the [...] (1535) is excited by isoscalar photons, in agreement with some results of [...] photoproduction experiments, and in disagreement with quark theory.
