Description
Summary:The Credo Series comprises eleven textbooks – seven already published and four in progress – that together constitute a comprehensive presentation of the Catholic faith for use in high schools and youth ministry programs. As a complete catechetical curriculum The Credo Series explores concepts outlined in the document of The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) titled Doctrinal Elements of a Curriculum Framework for Young People of High School Age from a sound theological and pedagogical basis. Taking as its starting point the lived experience of students, The Credo Series challenges them to make their own lives a lived response to the teachings of the Catholic Church. The person and message of Jesus Christ is central to the series; and, through Credo, students will come to know both the Jesus of history and the Christ of faith. Prayer and meditative exercises are incorporated to help students experience the presence of God in their lives. The Credo Series utilizes Thomas Groome's "Shared Christian Praxis" pedagogy, which is adapted for the first time herein for high school catechesis. A strong social justice theme is consistently presented. === Title supplied by cataloger.
