Summary: | This research aimed to investigate the level of change toward excellence in secondary schools in Johor Bahru. The research involved samples from teachers and parents from three selected schools. The data collected were gathered by using questionnaires and were analyzed by using the Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16.0 software via descriptive statistical method. Interview method was used to identify factors which had contributed towards excellence, barriers, change strategies, and program towards change in the schools. Eighteen respondents among principals, assistant principals and head departments were involved as interviewees. An overall results showed that the level of parents involvement was high with an overall mean value of 3.91. In addition, this research had also identified several approaches that can be used to promote excellence in schools.
