Description
Summary:Scientific literature contains a large number of publications, devoted to wound treatment in the general surgery using biologically active compounds (BAC). Most of the BACs which are widely used in the general surgery are unacceptable in cases of traumatic and surgical eye injuries because of their specific configuration and miniature size of the wound field. Despite these peculiarities, stages of wound process in the eye occur according to the same canons as in the general surgery. So far in ophthalmology BACs were applied in the form of drip solutions and therapeutic contact lenses which affect corneal reparative processes. In recent years a particular attention is drawn to methods of treatment using nanotechnologies and bio-plastic materials. Good results in the treatment of corneal pathology showed the use of nano-structured biopolymer of hyaluronic acid. The Giamatrix application in the treatment of erosions gave an epithalization acceleration in 1.5 times, and in the treatment of burns led to the formation of a more gentle haze of less vascularization. After the study of literature we considered it possible to use the Apollo PAK-AI BAC for the treatment of wounds after the eyeball enucleation surgery.
