Description
Summary:For a long time, the history of education disregarded the Middle Ages, although it was a very productive period in terms of debates and teaching innovations. What is presented here is the most important aspects of such debates and innovations, focusing mainly on medieval faculties between the 13th and the 15th centuries. As specified in the notes, this article aims at making things clear in a historiographical background. It is part of a series of comparative, trans-periodic studies, and intended mainly for historians who specialize in modern or contemporary history or for specialists of educational sciences, not for medievalists specialized in the history of education.
