The survey was conducted in two groups of 7 years of primary school, a school of public health system of Santana do Ipanema in which a pre-test were applied, and a post-test with semi-structured questions that addressed points regarding the process of metabolizing fungi. The 7th grade "A" was used as the test class the 7th grade "B" as the control group. The control class that is where the content was taught in the traditional manner with lecture and class test that where a simple experiment on the content discussed was applied. For data analysis, the chi-square, which consists of a hypothesis test that assesses the association between qualitative variables was used. The results revealed that there was an improvement in the results in both groups, highlighting an increase of 38.46% in the control group result after the presentation of content and an increase of 86.66% in the test group after application of classroom practice. The results from the practice shows the need to seek new methods that provide subsidies for the improvement of science education, providing student learning from the interaction between theory and practice. http://periodicos.ifal.edu.br/diversitas_journal/article/view/555classroom practicelectureinteraction
