| Summary: | The analysis of the Portuguese cultural relations in the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries is the basis of this article. The preocupation in understanding the role of the "estrangeirados" and its effect on the Portuguese royal court are explored through the revision of documents from that period in time, and through a historiographe revision. The "estrangeirados" were, in the Portuguese situation then, intellectuals protected by a state attentive to cultural coherence politics with the rest of Europe. |
