The reign of sultans spanned 200 years. During this period many sultans passed away who made the propagation of Islam their goal, Due to the arrival of Sufis and their preaching efforts Islam was further developed. Millions of Kashmiris became Muslims because of Sufis and set the stages of Sufism. Thanks to the teachings of the Sufis, the rulers and emperors established relationships with Non –Muslims. Due to which Islam got further developed. During this period the Sufis who became very famous in Kashmir where Syed Ali Hamdani and his companions, Noor UD din Wale and his khalifas, Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom, Baba Dawood khaki and a large number of their followers enlightened the regions with the light of Islam. Their books and archives are still widely spoken and studied in Kashmir. Syed Ali Hamdani,s books had got fame generally in the Muslim community and particularly in the Kashmiri community. Their commemorations (Awrad e Fathia) are still read aloud in Kashmiri mosques. Shaikh Noor UL Din Wales work (kalam e Shaikh Ul Alum) is a big addition to Kashmiri literature and it has prestige as the word of Kalamullah in the Kashmiri language. These Sufis and their books had an impact on the Kashmiri Kings that they edified the religious epigraph to preach their teaching throughout Kashmir and create abbacies for them.
