| Summary: | This paper presents an application of definite integral whose objective is to calculate the flooded area of Rio Bonito’s dam. Historical records show the importance of this dam to the region, it is responsible for contain the floods in "Banhado do Sombrio ", and the irrigation of rice fields. The dam format is far from a regular region whose area calculation would be easily found. We study definite integrals and curve fitting. These themes were used to aproximate the flooded area of Rio Bonito’s dam. To facilitate the calculations, we use of GeoGebra and graph softwares. |
