Given the content analysis, two theme categories were selected: the elements involved in caringfor elderly (including the requirement of subjectivity and expertise, in addition to the social recognition to the elderly); andanother was related to practices and knowledge needed to care for the elderly in nursing education. It is suggested thatmore studies should be directed in order to the reflection on the nursing schools’ curriculum, and discussions about theelderly health should be carried out in order to enable the educate nurses that are able to meet the challenges of an agingpopulationhttp://dx.doi.org/10.5380/ce.v14i1.14120AgedNursingEducation
