It also focuses the relation between those policies and the creation of green jobs. The study points out that the changes in the strategy of the State intervention in the Brazilian Northeast are not always followed by major changes in the way institutions act in the management of public policies and the creation of green jobs. It concludes that in spite of the existence of a certain social capital in the region, the local society is not fully mobilized to the new opportunities of participation within that territory. Although the amount of jobs in the region has increased in the period analyzed, the environment sector is not an effective priority of the job creation policies having the social and the environmental focus, in Brazil and in the Northeast.http://journals.openedition.org/cal/831Stateparticipationpublic policysustainable developmentgreen jobs
