Description
Summary:The article analyzes some sites and facebook pages of cultural institutions - withdrawn from a wider universe of study - to understand how initiatives and events were carried out during the lockdown phase, from March to June 2020. The examples are related to museums of art (National Art Gallery of Bologna), archaeological museums (National Etruscan Museum of Marzabotto), contemporary art (MAXXI), museum archives (CSAC) and galleries (GAMeC). It reflects on the role of museums in the public space when confronted with traumatic situations. It highlights the limits and potential of a museum inserted in the context of everyday events and those of choices linked to "normality" that does not bother with events that can be agents of structural transformation.
