Summary:This work seeks to identify the direct relationships between disability and a person's socioeconomic status. It is an attempt to outline the elements that define disability and the costs it entails in a social system which, at the moment, is precarious and unstable. At the same time, this work emphasizes the important role disability plays, and the frequent interdependence between disability and poverty. This work outlines an agenda for future research in this field.
