Description
Summary:This paper presents an overview of issues related to the role of human resources in creating innovation in tourism businesses. The main purpose is to identify the level of utilization of personnel in innovative activities of the researched tourism entities. It attempts to verify the research hypothesis: Tourism enterprises, and other entities in this market, don’t perceive the human resources key role in creating innovation. This paper presents an overview of the chosen aspects related to innovation in tourism enterprises, located in Poland, in the South Sub-region of Silesia. The presented results indicate that the main drivers of innovation are exogenous factors, and the impact of human resources on these processes is varied. The paper points to the need to change the approach of managers of tourism enterprises, to include roles attributed to employees in finding innovative solutions. For this purpose, companies should develop these resources in terms of their quantity and quality.
