In order to base this work theoretically, we addressed parameters and practices for quality management. As for the work method, a case study was performed in a building where the procedures for quality and control improvement were identified through participant observation and interviews with the engineering team. The results show that despite being an organized project with adequate projects and planning, and definition of responsibility for each activity, undocumented processes were identified and reworked into the activities of the project. It was also observed that there are failures in the control of receipt and storage of materials, and in the inspection of services, as well as lack of feedback from the system in terms of the qualification of suppliers of materials and services, as well as agility in the purchasing process. Difficulties such as these show the need to standardize and document the main procedures of the work, through the formation of a system of quality control. In this way it will be possible to reduce rework and waste and promote stability and predictability for the management of the work.https://revista.feb.unesp.br/index.php/gepros/article/view/2351QualityBuilding worksManagement.
